Too Many Problems...
I had one of the very first SC430's on the road. It was delivered to me on March 20th 2001. Now I know that new cars always have their quirks and things to work out but I am starting to get a little too familiar with my service advisor at the local Lexus dealership.
Problems To Date.
1. Needed a new stereo (Came on at full blast and wouldn't allow me to make any audio adjustments bass, treb...etc..)
2. Both the Nav Wood Panel and the Stereo Wood panel were being scratched each time the were open and closed.
3. 2 separate times the tire pressure light has come on, resulting in two new run flats being installed..
4. Rear Bushings Replacement...TWICE NOW
5. Doors that resonate and rattle at any bass level (what's the point of a great stereo if you can't turn it up?) Yet to be solved...
6. Roof would not close, had to have it towed in to the dealer with the roof half open, problem was fixed but they didn't know what caused it.
7. Drivers side tweeter was loose and fell out when I closed the door (while I was at the dealership no less) it took them 3 times to order in the right part to fix it. 3 seperate visits as well, all for a plastic cover!!!
8. Sun Visor that was loose and would fall down at random when you hit a bump.
And there have been a few other minor things that have had to be adjusted along the way...
Don't get me wrong I love the car but taking time out of my day to go in and visit the dealer is a pain, and I admit I am a picky son of a ***** when it comes to my cars. That is why I buy Lexus cars because they usually have few problems and they are 100% commited to solving them...Lets hope my list stops at 8...

there was a guy awhile back ago that also had lots of problems with his Lexus. I think he had alot of rattles or something like that. He somehow either got his money back for the Lexus or Lexus gave him a new one. My memory of his posts are vague but isnt there a law about Lemons and you can take Lexus to court if you got a Lemon? No offence, but maybe you got lemon and can do something about it. Just my 2cents.
Droptop- I would write a letter to Lexus corporate (direct it to the CEO/President of Lexus N.A.) stating your disappointment and all the service issues you've encountered since you bought the car. I would include copies of all your service tickets with the letter, then see what type of response you get. I know you've had the car for over a year, but I think it's worth a shot.
From what I understand, Lexus just about bends over backwards to please their customers so my guess is a letter would help you out a great deal... ...maybe they'll even go way out and replace the car with a new one?!?

the new es is my moms, im till waitin to get a new rx, or the qx4, or x5, im not sure what i like, but the few times i drive the es, it was awesome, so nice a so much smoother than the previous es, but it is a bit slower. but sooo nice inside, nice wood and design. anyway its a great car.
It seems that you did get a lemon. If I was paying that much for a lex, I would have told them to get me a new one asap. Since this is not anything you could have really doen they should take care of it.
