Default Weekend with an SC

first off, wanted to say that this forum is great and has a lot of useful info about this car. i've almost read all the posts.

my dad took delivery of a silver on black SC with the chromed OEM rims last weekend. i think the chrome makes the factory rims look much better. the dealer (longo) had a black one in the showroom with L-sportline rims, looked very nice. this car is awesome, to say the least. i think the interior is one of the best i've seen. the concealed nav and audio controls are very slick, as is the retractable hardtop. my dad went out of town this weekend, so i was able to spend some quality time with it while at home. i basically made myself go out and do errands just to drive it. i'd say it's more of a GT than a sports car. everything about it is smooth. i was wondering, how can i find out the production date? only b/c i was wondering if ours has the updated suspension bushing. the ride seems pretty fine around town, it's only on the freeway that i started to feel a lot of the imperfections in the road make their way inside. if i had to be super picky, my only changes would be to upgrade the black plastic that surrounds the shifter to the brushed aluminum that surrounds the audio controls (believe it or not, my 15yr old sister pointed that out to me), add a sub (does it have one already? wasn't sure...the mids and highs are super clear tho!), get rid of the runflats, and maybe tweak the suspension to be a bit softer. honestly tho, those are pretty minor, especially when looking at all the things that this car does so well. this is going to be my dad's daily driver, so i hope it will hold up well (already has 700mi after week 1). his previous car was a '92 LS400 which had 200,000mi and was still running flawlessly. the only thing i know i can forsee being a problem are having to replace the tires often (i think getting normal tires and a spare is in the future for us). i already told my dad about xpel, and i think we'll do that the next time i'm home. have any of u put sheepskin or some kind of cover on the leather? i know it'll get worn after time, so was wondering what people's solutions are for that. sorry about the long post, just had to share with fellow enthusiasts.

Jeez .. I think if I had a son at home with my SC430 and I had to go out of town, I'd take the keys with me.

Just kidding, Sunny. You're lucky to have a dad with such a nice car. My father didn't even own a car. Good thing everything was within walking distance.
