Default Replacing shocks

Just diagnosed with leaking shocks front and rear. I am sure that this will be expensive as shocks probably part of whole strut assembly. Any idea what costs may be before I talk to the mechanics?

thanks

Don't be surprised if you get a quote of $2,000 - $2,500 for parts and labor for all four. Lexus allocates 3 hours for the front and 4 for the rear (they could do both in 3-4 hours).

Before you get stock shocks, you may want to consider the Tein CS Coilover, set to the stock hieght. The ride quality is much better.

besides the the Tein coilovers,......are there any other non-adjustable f/r struts for our SC430 thats' a little bit better ride quality than OEM stock struts? if so.....what brand.

If I was to spend 2000.00, I'd rather get aftermarket.

most people go with tein cs for the comfort. most other shocks have a harsher ride. they'd be a good way to go. if you decide to buy aftermarket wheels later, you'll be able lower it.

so I guess I'm stuck with OEM shocks/struts for now, since aftermarket shocks/struts are a lot stiffer.?.?.?.?......(not Tein coilovers CS)

can anyone tell me how much Tein CS coilovers are? there are really no other ways besides Tein CS coilovers? b/c they seem a bit steep in price.

tein recently raised their price to about $1,700. they were $1,200 before. keep an eye on the classifieds section here and a set pops up every once in a while for about $900.
