Need to replace shocks - recommendations?
The KYB struts called the GR2's ARE NOT the same as stock. They are really horrible and ride like a mini-truck. I tested them against the stocks, Tokicos, and coil-overs. The Tokicos are the best overall for a sporty feel but the stocks are tough to beat for the price.

So the stock shocks are good enough? Considering my driving style, and the way the car handled before these started wearing out I can believe that.. I was hoping one of the other brands might reduce body roll but if the stock ones are that good I'll just get a set of those.

Have your tried the KYB AGX adjustables? I am currently debating between those and the tokicos for which ones to buy. I want whatever will give me the better handling (turn taking) as I assume the basic everyday road ride would be about the same with both.

The AGX adjustables require Supra springs because the rear perches are set higher. My opinion is that the Tokicos are still better all around...but the adjustability is nice. I rarely adjusted the settings on my adjustables unless I had a specific drive I was anticipating. So unless you step up to the Teins with edfc, then I would say get the Tokicos and be happy. ACleanSC4 has some for sale. I was going to buy them from him but never hooked up with him.

Are we talking Tokico blues? I have Tokico OEM made for the Supra and they ride nicely. Someone on the SupraForums told me the Supra NA shocks are stiffer than the Supra TT shocks if that helps.
BTW, anyone with an SC300 that wants free Tanabe lowering springs should hook up with Tanabe RD in Torrance? or Carson? Anyway, they are offering free lowering springs with free install for one lucky SC300 owner.

hmm...Tanabe is doing this?
anyway, i used to have kyb agx's on my old car and i absolutely loved them. it was extremely easy to change the setting, which took seconds and the change in ride from the hard to soft setting was very noticable. they're great, but i don't have any experience with them on the sc.

can you or anyone else confirm that the na springs are stiffer. I am probably going to get the tokico blues, but I want the stiffer of the two setups. I was leaning toward the tt springs because they lower .1" less, and I wanted to avoid any rubbing issues I have heard about and prevent as much uneven wear as possible. I know .1" probably won't make a difference for either of those, but I was leaning towards the tt springs. I would lean toward the na springs if I knew they were stiffer.
RE: the tanabe deal
1: you have to be in so cal
2: they lower 2"
