Default Luxlink Full Install With 1/4 Window Mod Interesting Other Function

PLEASE ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN THROUGH A LUXLINK INSTALL OR HAS HAD IT INSTALLED READ THIS AND COMMENT ON IT. I THINK I HAVE FOUND SOME INTERESTING KEY FUNCTIONS THAT YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF
My 2005 sc430 installed generation 3 lux link remote top and remote start and 1/4 window mod Following interesting resullts>

I did not install the hood pin wire instead I ran it to 12 volt hot wire. I did not want to waste time. The hood pin wires purpose if you use it is to prevent the car from starting when the hood is up. The wire has to go to a hidden connector wire behind the junction box. was to much extra work.

All functions work with remote key fob

remote start only
remote top only

remote start and remote top in same secquence

if you remote start you can kill engine by putting key in drivers side key hole and just turning it twice to lock it twice and motor kills.

1/4 windows retract with three click on drivers side down window switch
1/4 windows go up with three clicks on drivers side down window switch

Here is where it gets interesting. If I insert the key in the drivers door lock key hole and duplicate the sequence that you use with the remote but instead of using remote just turn key to appropriate lock, unlock, etc to duplicate the remote and it works evry time . I can remote start or remote top or do both in same sequence just using the key in the drivers door key hole I dont know if its supposed to work this way. I have full functionality it works just the way it is supposed to.

1/4 window wiriing schmatic that I got from steve and wired it exactly as he told me did not work i had to reverse four wires on drivers rear window module harness. when I tested it first with steves schematic one rear window went up other stood still. when I tripple clicked again the window that went down came up and the other window that did not move now went down. after I reversed the wires it worked fine

The driver side window clicks have to be done with front windows down first then tripple cliick [ listen for the door relay before you click again and listen again for the door relay to click and same for third . The rear windows go up or down. The important thing you have to do is wait 10 seconds before you tripple click again. If you dont wait the computer gets confused and you have to reset the system by starting car with key turning off car with key closing door locking and then unlock car.

WOULD LIKE SOME HELP ON THE ALARM ISSUE READ BELOW
Only issue I have is Iam not able to arm my alarm after install we did remove battery cable during install . WOuld this have any effect on the alarm not being able to arm. I get no solid red security light on with the engine off key out all doors closed hood and trunk. It just flashes. So when i lock door with remote security light just flashes . If I hold down the panic button on remote the panic sounds the horn after 3 seconds. If I try to test the alarm system by opening a door from inside with out usung the remote or the open door lock switch the alarm shoul sound it does not. Please Help

Probably because most people had someone install this for them. I dont think anyone can keep up with the details.

Hey Weny -- good to see you around!! Someone was looking for you a couple of weeks ago -- you might want to do a search.

Backchannel rumour has it that Mr. Blister's problems have been solved and he's a happy camper.

I found out recently that this also applies to the lock/unlock buttons on the door. My wife did this the other day (she only carries the Valet key on her keychain - it's considerably smaller). I asked her how she did it and she told me "Unlock - Lock - Lock" using the buttons on the door. Smart gal!

The LuxLink just ties into the power door-lock circuit so, it doesn't care how the sequence happens - whether it be from the fob, from the keyhole or from the door buttons. I'm sure you could mix and match iffin's you so desired (Hit the unlock button on the fob and then hit the lock button twice on the door).

Default Is it worth DIY ?

I remembered this thread when it was originally posted.... and I searched and read every other relevant thread as well.... now I have a question:

Is it worth doing the Luxlink install myself? I have the knowledge (and tools) to do it, but it seems like a Royal PITA.

Please chime in if you did the install yourself; Mr. Blister and anyone else... I appreciate it

Also, if you're from Chicago and want to install it for me, I'm all ears.

I installed it with the help of another member that had been through the install himself before. He never did the 1/4 window mod. I did the install on that my self. Is is a pain I quess it looks more daunting then it is. I am glad I was a part of the install I learned a great deal about my car. I would do it again in a heart beat.
