FIRST TIP: DISCONNECT BATTERY, JUST IN CASE.
I used a small screwdriver and a block of wood to lever the clips off.
Took me about 1hour to finish the whole swap. If I had to do it again, could be done in 20 minutes, knowing what to undo and how to pull the lights out. (The light cluster is held by one bolt, hidden by a plastic cap. The rest of the cluster is held under tension by "prongs" that require a little bit of force to unclip). Don't go looking for bolts/nuts behind the lights, you won't find any.
Spare wheel, tool kit, side storage bins, rear plate (Screwdriver will lift plate off) and panel needs to come out. The floor panel only needs to be taken out if you are doing the ECU swap. ECU swap is easy, a matter of unplugging old plugs, a couple of bolts and done within a couple of minutes. ECU is located under floor left hand top corner)
I went through the motions of removing most of the left hand side panel, and realising that I only really needed to remove enough clips just to get in behind the light to change light wiring loom plug. If I were doing it again, I'd try leaving the blind brackets in place, but if you can't get enough room to get your hands in to swap the loom. then look at second tip.
SECOND TIP (The black rubber pads need to be levered off exposing a "torx?" bolt.) Go and buy the bit before you even start the project, or be prepared to run down to the auto store to pick one up. I had one in my tool box, but wouldn't want to try undoing it without the right bit. Don't sit there turning the black pads, you will be there for a while wondering how long it will take. If you try and use a hex key you might strip the inside of bolt. .
BTW. Change the top part of the light, the 06 panel looks much better that the old one, and also as mentioned, it is a different size.
Also Phillips have a silver coated turn/indicator lamp. Worth putting in so you don't see any amber through the now clear lens.
