I did a large amount of work with the dash and junction boxes. I've put everything back together but now, every time turn the car off, the doors auto lock. Is this a feature that I turned on? If so, is there a way to turn it off?
Thanx for any help
Mine started cycling the locks occasionally, then regularly ... no chirp or headlight flash when unlocking via remote ... dome light stopped staying on till key insert ... then the battery fell on its face. Six sessions on the balance charger and I've finally got it into the acceptable range. Now to dig into the door wiring and try to find the culprit.
I wish the SC had a programmer tool like my '99 VW Jetta did. There was a tool one could buy which would allow for various modifications, such as auto unlock when turning off the car.
I could see the appeal of customizing the electronics, although that just sounds like more to go wrong...
My ground wire ended up being fine from the fuse panel to the door switch and from the door switch to the lock actuator, so I have more electrical gremlin chasing to do...
I can't help but think that's a coincidental solution. The theft ECU went bad immediately after doing all the other dash work? Seems unlikely. My guess would be, whatever you disturbed initially that caused the problem, was then un-disturbed when accessing and changing out the theft ECU.
