Default BFI does it really work?

Hi guys ive already done a search on this and everyone is saying that the best intake for the SC is the bfi intake so ive decided to go with it. I was just wondering if anyone has real evidence of the performance gains that come with the intake, something like track times or dyno test. thnx

Yup it does make a difference... I could feel a difference especially in the mid-range band... I've got just a BFI and I made 149.3Kw at the wheels...

Does the BFI have any effect on emissions?

No, it just allows your engine to suck in more air quicker, all before any MAF, so emissions should be exactly like stock.

Hey what's up shyvpboi
Even thought I won’t be able to prove any power gains from the BFI I have notice a difference. But what I can prove is the Growl my car makes now, the BFI gives ur exhaust a very nice tone to it, so you will not be disappointed.

i was lookin on planet soarer and i thik it is two ways to make the bfi intake. one way is with the three holes in the intake. the other way is to make one big whole int he front. i may be wrong but i think i seen it done both ways. so what is the more effective way of doin it. if it is so

Both are effective, the OG way (to cut a hugh hole) works and so does the new way. The new way just looks a bit cleaner and more professional, but if you really dont care for all that then just do it the 1st way.

Go to Lextreme's site and look at BFI. This is the pics of mine- 2 Large holes. Post is unfinished- My computer crashed, and lost many pics. I am taking more pics over the weekend, and will post up. Looks, sounds excellent, and performs much better than stock.

You can get the first type of BFI to look pretty neat. I'm still working on getting some plastic moulded into shape for a cover... an interesting project indeed

I am also designing a custom air chamber upgrade for my BFI, should perform better as I will have virtually Zero air or pressure loss from the stock chamber. Even though I added the plastic airblocks to keep air from slipping around the battery side, I belives I am still losing some there and elsewhere. Will let you know how it works, many weeks before done.
