Default just installed intake.....

ok i just installed my intake and it seems to have a little better top end but for some reason my low end has gone down quite a bit..... it seems to have a bit of lag when i take off. is this normal or is something wrong. thanks

I don't have an IS, but I can agree with you on the high end power gain with the intake...

That is totally normal because with an intake 1) you lose backpressure 2) you're sucking in more hotter air initially during your initial acceleration.

The only 100% fix to get your low end back is put your stock intake back in. Other than that...you have to live with it.

Default intake solution

One thing that I did was I purchased a drop in Blitz air filter and used a (polished) intake pipe made for a 96-99 Civic. You still get the look but the factory airbox will create a bit more backpressure to give you more pickup during low end and the filter will help your high end, and the intake will allow smoother air flow. Neat trick...
