Hey guys - I bought a Supra 2jzgte tb/wp kit for the GTE motor I bought and ran into a snag. You can see that the holes line up to the block ok, but do not match up with the thermostat housing. Did I get the wrong water pump, or should I have bought a different one for another type of GTE motor? Thanks for the help!
Billy - thank you for the input! I'll do some looking around town and see if I can find a USDM style thermostat and housing locally so I can get everything installed this weekend.
Hey Rudy did you ever get this figured out? I’m going to be replacing my water pump in a couple weeks. I have a aristo motor which has the Hydropump and the TT is belt driven. Was there anything you had to do besides just swap the back half? Anything blocked off or anything like that?
Thanks again for the help here everyone! Billy, I did get it figured out. Essentially, the Aristo WP is the same as the US GTE, however, the back half with the thermostat housing is different. In order to correct, I had to purchase a complete water pump with thermostat housing from Toyota. By changing both together, the US style pump now bolts to the US style thermostat housing that I installed on the Aristo motor.
Heads up, Toyota charges ALMOST $300 for the complete water pump with thermostat housing attached. A friend of mine had a Worldpac account, so I still spent about $200 on it. However, it all bolted together perfectly and I did replace all the o-rings, gaskets, and thermostat at the same time. When you install the thermostat, be sure to line up the little jiggly part (god, please forgive me, not sure what to call it) with the extruded piece on top of the housing (the directions with the thermostat will make this clear). That way everything can bleed correctly.
Thanks I bought the OEM Toyota complete pump assembly today. Do I have have to buy a separate thermostat housing? Any other parts ill need besides the complete pump assembly?
If you bought a complete water pump with thermostat housing it will have everything you need. Your existing water neck/other part of the thermostat housing will bolt up to the new water pump just fine.

Yes, I used the stock water neck. The ones that they are selling as replacements are steel, the stock one is alloy.
