Problems
I have been have only a few problems that i want to fix! First is my leaking transmission pan from around the bolts? Ask Carson toyota for a new transmission pan gasket and the guy told me i should use silicone to repair? Sounds kind of shady! Second my 92 SC400 is very shaky at high speeds( over 80mph) i am scared to go over 110mph. What should i do? I just brought new tires and i am getting them installed on my car today and getting it balanced because i had horrible tire wear on the inside of my two passenger side tires and not so bad on the drivers side. And some times my car pulls to the right and left and yes i checked the pads they are meaty and the caliper seems ok! I think its the bushings though. I just reached over 50,000 last week. And is it just me or does my traction control really doesnt work good in the rain, maybe because i have ****ty tires. because i spin all the time. Just some questions i need answers to. because i have alot of things in basement for my car but refuse to put them on until the car is mechanically sound!
Thanks

my car has the same problem with wheel spin, i just got new tires a week ago and its still doing it...i dont trust my car in wet weather anymore, spun out in the snow 1.5 years ago and spun out in heavy rain 3 weeks ago....im going to buy a new car for that reason, hopefully an Audi S4....quattro is so great in the wet weather, my dads A6 never feels like its going to slip or get stuck or have any of its wheels spin

toyota has a silicone gasket material called fipg (formed in place gasket) anyways I am not sure if they used it on the tranny, but it is a good quality material, so if Carson toyota is recommending a silicone, I bet that would work. with the braking and jerking to one side, If you have checked the rotor and pads, you might want to make sure that there are no leaks that would cause pressure to bleed out of on side when the brake is depressed.

I think I know what your talkin about Philly, it's right near where the tranny meets the engine, right? Mine had the same problem but mine was leaking motor oil from that same area, its the seal between the motor oil and the tranny oil. It's called the rear main seal, I just had my mechanic replace it and the seal cost about $20 from the lexus dealer and my mechanic charged me another 200 to put it in. But 1st check out what's leaking, is it your tranny fluid or your motor oil. And if it is your motor oil then it would most probably be your rear main seal.

Besides, if you REALLY want the ultimate all weather traction, then go buy yourself a new Toyota Land Cruiser/ Lexus LX470.
