So I took my car in for a 60,000 check up
At the local shop I visit. I was informed my tires were balding and I needed new ones. I have 62,000 miles on my car and this is the SECOND set of tires. Some kind of mechanical wear has caused my tires to die. I believe this was me not having the cars alignment fixed after tire rotating.
They recommended that I change the transmission fluid. When should I do that?
I went by Costco and purchased $900 worth of tires. Really pisses me off.

Yeah....I don't get that. I wish I could get that kind of wear from ANY tire on any of my cars!
Recently on my LS, I was getting wear on the outside edges of my front tires. I had a four wheel alignment done and when I got the print out report back from the machine they use, all four tires were WAAAY out of spec. All bushings and suspension components were in good shape.

The brand of tires, regular tire rotations, proper tire pressure, wheel alignments and routine tire inspections will make your tires last longer. Have mines checked every 5000 miles when having my oil changed.

Good question. This is why I am posting in here. Lexus told me I needed new ones last year. My mechanic told me they was a slight crack in one of the bushings, but it doesn't need to be replaced. He called it normal wear and was no safety concern.
I do not believe that would cause all 4 tires to go die quicker than normal. This is why I am posting my problem in here.

I also think 31K is good. I am curious if anybody on the forum is getting more than that.
I just changed out the original factory tires on mine at 23K. I could have got another 5K out of them but want the new Michelin Sports AS3 for a little better handling.
Did make a nice difference. But either way would have only got about 30K max on the tires.

Most people think the factory rated mileage advertised on a tire will be the same for every car which is not true. Apart from the general maintenance of the tire, age and road conditions tires can very greatly and usually the better tires will wear faster. Heavy cars are brutal on tires.
