1995 SC300 Key Duplication
Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/resources for getting another key cut for my 1995 SC3 with the single lock/unlock button. From what I understand, there wasn't a transponder introduced until later years.
I searched the forums here and found a resource that dated from 2005 and figured the "group buy" deal for that retailer isn't valid anymore.
Also, do I have to buy the HYQWDT-B key (like my current one)? Or can I buy another (such as the HYQ1512V)? I understand that my car might not support the trunk/alarm buttons, but perhaps I could buy the newer key and have only the lock/unlock button working? I ask this because the HYQWDT-B is expensive and rare and the HYQ1512V is much cheaper and available.
Thanks.

Log into Sewell Lexus with your Club Lexus credentials. We get a juicy discount on remote keys cut to our VIN number. I have done it 3 times and I'm quite happy with the service.

I might just buy a normal key without the button. Not sure the button is worth the $130 premium.
just get the shell online with a blank blade and go to the dealer and they will cut it usually for a lower price. swap out the electronics with your old one.
The 1 button ones are pretty hard to find though.
