Cool Trunk Lid

The trunk lid on my '94 SC400 won't stay up. Anybody out there with any suggestions?

or if you are to cheap, a pair of vice grips on the shaft will keep it up

Yeah it's a simple job. Can be as quick as 10 minutes if it comes off easy or as much as 30-40 minutes if you have trouble getting the old ones off.

Just buy new trunk supports/struts, pull off the old ones and put the new ones on, the linked threads have pictures and instructions.

Thanx BeakSC, Those photos and step-by-step info were dynamite. Bought the new lifters from German Imports in Texas somewhere for 74.95 for the pair. Easy job. All done, works beautiful.
Thanx again!! Lobstaman

I'm not mechanically inclined, so I need all the help I can get. I bought the pair of struts and
actually put them on myself and didn't have to think to hard either. Thanx for you're input.
