outside temperature reader
on my 97 sc400 the outside temperature "gauge" doesn't seem like it's working. it starts and has -22 F and stays there.. is there a way to get it to work or anywhere I need to check?
thanks

^^ Yep, even my car being a 92 has the same sensor in the bumper. I thought about getting a newer cluster and getting the outside temp to show, then remembered its 2014 and there's a million other easy ways to see it lol..
Interesting. I didn't know you could get the outside temp display by swapping in a '95 cluster. I wish I had one on hand to drop in for confirmation of what the ambient temp sensor is reading ... would help to troubleshoot my lack of cool air. I guess I'll just have to go through the FSM's checks instead.

I am assuming a 92-94 SC owner cannot simply swap in the clock/temp LED section from a 95-96 SC cluster and replace the black interior plastic part just below the gauges to make this work with the factory 95+ outside temp sensor? I don't want to change my 93 manual cluster that's in perfect shape but I'd love to have this function.
yeah it was one of those things they added along the way. like the 95 also has the different bulb for the auto lights and of course the fog lights and switch for those, new front bumper, tail lights, something funny with the rear control arms, it was an interesting year to say the least.
