Default Going to black out my emblems. Please recommend paint code.

Hi guys,

I got a spare silver trunk and 92 spoiler that I am going to be painting soon and while I am prepping that thing, I really want to black out all of my emblems. I didn't want to drill holes in my trunk, so I just got another silver one from a pre 97 SC.

I am undecided if I want just plain black with clearcoat or metallic black with clearcoat for the emblems.

I worked on a black metallic Ferrari FF a little while ago, the owner said it was metallic black, but for the life of me I cannot find the paint code for it. II am leaning towards a metallic black and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Looking for something with a little metallic, nothing flashy.

I think you should get the ones on Sewell Lexus (Black Pearl Emblems), it's pretty pricey but at least its OEM. I think the shaved look is much better though :\

I completely agree. I love the shaved look... SO clean. The black pearl emblems are pretty sick, but its like $350 for the full set.

I am not retarded to pay 350 + shipping for some emblems especially when I have access to a big discount to get them painted professionally. I thought about no emblems but to me it just looks unfinished, like something is missing.

I just ditched my nasty faded gold emblems for chrome ones. MUCH better looking haha. If I were going to paint them, personally, I would go for a satin black. I was actually thinking about painting my gold ones just to see how they would look.

Testors model paints has a black pearl spray paint or at least they did a few years back. I sprayed mine but didn't do a clear and they lasted about a year before the gold started showing on the front one. I ordered some chrome ones off eBay and I'm trying to decide if I want to try and paint them again

That's why u wanna use a two part clear coat. Most over the counter stuff just doesn't last.

I used craylon or whatever black paint from vatozone, it turned out great!!!
The key is to get all the chrome or gold completely sanded off and then primer and few coats of paint.
Go with the same finish your wheels are to match

I was going to suggest the Black Pearl ones from Sewell as well, but ya thats a ridiculous price for just some emblems. Why dont you paint them Black Chrome or Black Pearl instead?

I used VHT night shades. Semi gloss finish. Turned out great. I also painted my antenna tip.

What about a matte finish? I think it will compliment the wheels.

plastidip works well and lasts a long time. I like it.
