Default Black Emblems

Is there anybody or know of anybody who sale the Black Emblems for the IS 350 or do you have to remove them and paint them yourself?

your dealerships should sell them, but you're better off doing it yourself.

Yeah, very pricey at the dealerships. If you want to save money try this method:

It's an identical look to the OEM black pearl emblems. I did this for my front and it matches perfectly with my rear OEM black emblems.

Cheapest method is to paint them. However, the paint will start to fade and chip off. My brother did the paint method on his GS and it looks like crap after a year or so. So I just went ahead and ordered my set from sewell.

You can get them on Sewell Lexus online.

It will be a little bit cheaper with CL discount.

Not if you prepped though, properly. The front emblem will take beating....but the rears should be solid for a long time.

Check this thread out about painting the grill surround. Same concept on relatively the same material.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...sperate-3.html

I then did a search on plasti-dip and if I were to paint it, I'd use this because it is reversible.

True, the rear emblems should be fine for a very long time. But the front will definitely chip even with several layers of clear coat. My brother does a lot of traveling with his GS so his front emblem got beat up pretty quick.

Yes, definitely true on the front emblem. I DIY my front and it does take beating to the point where I want to try a different method.

buy it from sewell website or you can risk it and paint the chrome emblems yourself. I went the lazy route and just got the emblems from sewell.

Powdercoating is not an option for plastic parts. And you are correct in that they will not withstand the heat needed to bake the coating.
