What have you guys done regarding your intake? After i get out of school for the summer in about 6 weeks, im gonna do brakes and an intake I think...i did a custom exhaust last year, but didnt touch the intake...what are my options? I really dont think i want to fork over like 300 bucks for some RMM crap, yet I want a nice sounding (roaring) intake...any suggestions?

Thumbs up cone filter

If you visit the link below you will see what I did with my intake. It is much cheaper the the RMM intake and I would nearly put money on it that it is just as good. With this intake and my exhaust (which was simply two dynomax super turbo mufflers) my quarter mile times were increased by about 3 tenths of a second.

After three years and getting sick of cleaning the K&N:

I had to paint my VAF meter...in order to beat SC400nos settup. Heh heh

You guys' intakes look real nice. I especially like your yellow painted adapter touch!

I'm thinking of doing my intake but are there any figures done on any possible added horse power for the intake?
what's about how much louder are they than factory?

Thumbs up

Nice work sc400nos and Mindflux. I "hear" that an open element sounds great. sc400nos, how do the dynomax muffs sound? What was the part number for the adapter?

Default mufflers

The mufflers sound great. They were exactly what I wanted. With the factory intake they were not any louder just a slight bit deeper sound. Once I put the intake on the sound was slightly loudened and deapened a bit more. I don't know if I mentioned but I took of the rear resinators as well, I did leave the front one.

I am not sure on the part number for the intake, but if you call them they should be able to help you.

Good to "hear" it. The Dynomax Superturbos are GREAT mufflers at a very reasonable price. On turbocharged V8 Fords they are worth 50hp and more over Flowmasters. Flowmasters are much raspier and noisier than the dynomax and the dynomax sound MUCH richer.

It's a no-brand filter but I bought it because it was $50.00 and I already had the adaptor using a K&N. The filter is all metal and has no cotton element. I like the swirling effect and it does look nice.

You can get a Supra adaptor plate and use a dremel to enlarge the holes (which is what I did)...I also redid the adaptor when I bought this new filter by port matching the gasket as I noticed that the adaptor was not as big as the VAF (variable airflow meter) housing.
