Default Tail Lamp Failure Sensor - Resistor Value

After performing a conversion from '95 to '97+ tail lights, the tail light failure sensor comes on because, as has been discussed before, there are fewer bulbs.

I opened up the tail lamp failure sensor and this truly is an easy fix. There are 3 resistors that are set up on easy to get to jumpers, away from the circuit board.

Is there anyone with a '97+ who might be willing to pop open their sensor and supply the color codes/value of the resistors?

This would be great info for anyone wanting to avoid spending $150 for a new sensor which is literally made up of $3.00 worth of parts.

The sensor is located on the driver's side, in the trunk. It is a 2" x2" black box and is easily popped off from a vertical support, after removing the trim with the med kit. Run your hand on the inner side of the support and you should find it.

Unplug it and use a small screwdriver or something to pry it open, it has no screws.

Let me know if anyone needs any other info on upgrading to 97+

i was looking into this for a while, but are you talking about the flasher relay or the actual circuit board?

Default

This is in regards to the actual circuit board, which makes up the failure sensor.

The flasher relay does not need to be changed in this case because it is from a '95 to '97+ and both had only one turn signal bulb per side. Unlike the '92 to '94 which had more... 3 i believe.

BTW... The '97+ has 1 less brake light bulb and 1 less running light bulb per side than the '95 to '96.

Thanks...

Default Any new???

Just curious if any one found a fix... I have a 92 so I don't think my resistor values will help any... Do you have a 95? Hmm, maybe I can compare mine with your and see if there is a difference... Bryan
