Thumbs up puddle light mod /clear side marker help

So am thinking about doing this to make my sc look cool and make my car stand out. My major concern is the wiring part. What should i tap into for the power source?or should i get an independent switch. Also i would like to do clear side markers for a different look but i can't seem to find the material anywhere. No luck at home depot, the mod looks very easy... just trace, cut, and seal the light

Hey bro, you should pm Raine...he may be able to help you out. He just recently completed his puddle light install as well as SICK sensor warning system install. Check out his build. GL!

It'd be better if you have an independent switch for it. Raine, actually did the entire wiring with independent switches and even went as far as a secondary fuse box for all the accessories. As for the clear sidemarkers you have the option to buy the Vertex clear ones.

Here's how Raine's puddle lights, it's towards the bottom

And as for the wiring on page 8 he talks about how he rewired his whole car and used an auxiliary battery in the trunk. It's a bit overkill for just puddle lights but the idea is out there in case you wanted to add more lights later.

GL w/ the lights!

Easiest way for puddle lights is tap it to the dome light. Whenever you open your door it turns on. I havent figure a way to turn on when u unlock the door by remote

Agreed, if the dome light is like my 1GS then it has constant power, and sends a ground.

If you could somehow get the door trigger to send a negative post to the dome light, it would work. You probably would have to put a diode in place as well.
