As we know, "SC" stands for "Sport Coupe"; however where do manufacturers/engineers get the following designations from?
Does the designer simply give the car a name he feels is befitting, or does the designation really mean something in regards to the vehicle?
In other words, where does the "300" come from (besides Sparta). I mean, there's an ES300, and IS300, and SC300, but what do they mean?
I thought of this because with the 400 being the upgrade ("supposedly"; I think the 300 w/ a 2JZ is way better), the evolution of our cars was the SC430. Then I thought to myself, "Why 430? Why not 330, or 500?" Then I thought that if they design a new generation of SC's, it should be the "SC333" ('cus I think it sounds cooler than "330".
Where do these numbers come from? What do they really mean?
Not to be as ***, but you should really be using google to figure these questions out.. I mean alot of the question you ask are pretty common knowledge in the car community...
Try searching before posting questions... Just make yourself look more like a noob everytime!!
