Question Holes after shaved emblems?

For now I want to shave all my rear emblems and vinyl my trunk. In the future I think I'll just have the holes bondo-ed or welded when I have a paint job. The thing I notice after you shave the emblems are these rings around the edges of the holes. I'm going to vinyl and that's definitely going to show. Does anybody know how to remove those rings?

Sorry I couldn't find a thread through the search

proper way would be to weld, grind, bondo/glaze putty, sand, primer, sand, primer, paint. sorry guys but there are no shortcuts to body work.

It shouldn't show through the vinyl unless someone pokes the hole.

Yeah mine were welded shut and then painted. Since I have a pre97 spoiler, it created a cutoff point so I didn't need to paint the whole trunk. Just the bottom part.
