Default Power steering fluid or atf

Changing my power steering pump(oem) today along with a flush. Wut r u guys running power steering fluid or atf? My old cap says atf and new one says ps fluid.

Your new cap must be off of a whole different vehicle. SC300 requires DEXTRON III or higher ATF.

thats a good question kimosabi!!! i thought the same exact thing today seeing as they didnt have atf at the gas station!

waiting on answer... i wonder what will happen if i just use PS fluid... lol

I'm completely oblivious to this....atf = auto trans fluid, right?
and we run that in our ps?? wow.

Most japanese use atf in the ps pump. My bro works at lexus and he asked the tech and he said u can use both. I'm trying to figure out which one is the most preferred

This is correct but I prefer ATF as it has better anti oxidation properties.

ATF for the win! haha i say that because first off its what lexus built it to run on, second its got more anti oxidant, third its not as thick as ps fluid allowing a smoother flow and less build up

something in ps fluid can (and apparently does) eat seals on jap power steering systems.
I frequently hear old school guys say they're the same. maybe 50 years ago when leaded gas was available they were, but not anymore.

93 soarer is DexII (so newer stuff is ok dex III)
