On older models the brake fluid level indicator (mounted in the reservior cap) gets a bit screwed up and shows "low fluid" warnings on braking/cornering, the cure is to buy a new cap or, top up the brake fluid a fraction above the -- MAX -- line on the fluid tank, dont overfill it just go 3/4mm over the line, that seems to cure it.
Mine will throw out a warning every couple of months as the fliud level drops due to being pulled into the brake system to accommodate pad wear and/or evaporation.
I have a another vehicle that did the same and after asking a friend and him telling me a low battery can do it. I replaced the battery and both my break and abs llights went off. Not sure if this is your problem but it is worth the shot.
Does anybody know what kind of brake fluid I should use to refill? ...I guess what I mean is, is there a certain brand I need to use or can you mix brake fluids? My light seems to be doing the same thing lately... Thanks
