Got Hit!!
A couple days ago, gave the SC a good wash since its my DD and Ohio winters aren't that great on any car. Found my vac leak that was driving me nuts for the last couple weeks, everything was ok, with a faint feeling of something bads gonna happen "today"
Well that feeling slowly showed itself as the day went on. Pulled out of the gas station, pulled up to the light. Light turns green, quick check of what I could see. All traffic was stopped from where I could see, I slowly pull onto Lexington spring-mill. Caught a coming up to the intersection, no biggy it'll stop. This wasn't the case, the lady bascially ran the redlight and smacked into the front of the lexus just before the front tire.
Pushed the front bumper over an inch or 2, which pulled the fender an inch or so over the front pass tire. Missed the headlight, but killed the front bumper, fenders and corning light.
Called the cops, talked to them for a bit. A guy turned back around and wrote a statement, saying that she ran the light and smacked into the front of my car.
In her defense, she didn't see my car till the last moment. She also claimed the light was yellow, which makes me believe she was going 20-40mph but there was no brakes applied on her part.
First estimate was $6100 dollars, I just stopped at the house to inform you guys as well as look for a couple other body shops to gather estimates.
If anyone has a parts car, let me know, as I might be in the market for front end parts as well as aftermarket bumpers, fenders and corning lights.
I'm pissed because the SC, doesn't have any rust on it. It has a little problems here and there, but nothing I couldn't handle. But the car might end up being totalled because of someone wanting to get home and not pay attention to traffic lights, runs me over the top.

Go to a chiropractor and get your back checked out. Youll get another 2k once its all said and done. Id say to just let them total it and get another if you want to with no accidents.
Yeah, in a perfect world that would/should be true, but unfortunately with modern insurance practices in effect, they may decide the damage is more than 80% of the value of the car, declare it a total loss, and issue a check for far less than those repair costs. Forewarned is forearmed.

Look on NADA and find out what your car is worth, NADA is more accurate than Kelley and is used by most lending institutions and insurance companies. If the car is driveable get plenty of estimates, I would say at least half a dozen. BUT DO NOT EVER TAKE IT TO WHERE THE OTHER PERSONS INSURANCE TELLS YOU TO! The other insurance company pays that body shop to give low ball estimates and you won't get a penny more than what they quote you.
Sorry to hear the bad news.
Building on what FatBrian81 and others have said,
I agree the quote sounds high if the repairs are coming out-of-pocket, but in an insurance scenario, you want to provide high quotes so that the insurance doesn't try to give you less than the cost of a quality repair. As a result of the quality of assembly from the factory of these cars, a proper repair is a costly one. When I got hit, the quotes I got when dealing with my insurance were high - but not unreasonable to them because the recognized the high cost of parts on these vehicles. In the end, it benefited me greatly and helped me to obtain a fair settlement.
Best of luck getting things sorted out, keep us updated.

Yes, I agree with you very much. I greatly regret not going to a chiropractor after my car was T-boned by a lady pulling into KFC. Now I can only work on patient's teeth for about 15 minutes before my back starts to kill me.
