Default Pinstripes

It seems like most or all SCs have pinstriping. My car is dark green w/ tan stripes & I think that they look like crap! They seem to take away from the sportiness of the car. So I am most likely getting my pinstripes removed next week for $80. Has anyone else done this before?? Is there anybody else who does NOT like pinstriping on the SC, or do most people have them?? Do you think $80 sounds too steep?

I've never had pinstripes on mine, but I do agree that they are gross.

Ya my 94 400 doesnt have pin stripes but I have soon a couple of SCs with them. I havent really seen too many. Most SCs I see dont have any pin stripes. I think they are sooo ugly on just about any car. I cant stand them. I would pay like $100 to get them off if I had them on my car. My moms old 96 explorer had pin stripes and when I was at the dealership I peeled some of it off and it seemed to come off pretty quick without leaving anything behind but then again that was a ford not a Lexus

lol opps my 95 SC400 not 94

Be glad it's only costing you 80 bucks (it should be free if you did it yourself). I have to live with the unfortunate reality that my pinstripes are painted on and then clear-coated, so as far as I know there is going to be no easy solution to get rid of them :-/

I wouldn't ask for pinstripes, but IMO, it is that much better when you're sleeper dusts the competition.

I bought my black sc300 and it has tan sticker stripes, put over painted red ones. As soon as I get my turbo installed, the whole car is getting repainted. I cant STAND them!

Thumbs up I kinda like them , myself......

...but my car doesn't have them.

I saw a few SC's with them at the Carson meet, and they looked ok- especially the ones that are interrupted with the Circle L logo just forward of the door.

Johnny- I'll take yours if you don't want them.

That Lexus-logoed pinstripe was custom detail work done to Steve's car. Not a standard feature .

My stripes are painted on, but I do not believe they're clear-coated. So I'm getting them sanded off. You wouldn't want my stripes anyhow Perry, they're very ugly! At the front they have little squigely lines that seems be an attempt at looking classy, but it just looks like garbage. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow to show you guys before I get rid of them.

Here are the pics I said I'd try to get. They came out pretty badly, probably because I only have access to a polaroid camera But here are the pinstripes that will soon be no more!

And the absolute WORST of all! The little stripe in the rear beneath my SC300 emblem. Yuck! Once again sorry for the bad quality, hopefully a digicam will be on the way soon.
