I used that guide for my conversion. The one detail that it does not say. It says in that guide to remove the rotor just pull on it and it will come right off. If its rusted it may need to be "massaged" off by hitting it. I have found great success in screwing in a bolt (m14x 1.25 I think) into the bolt hole on the rotor to push against the hub as it tightens, separating the rotor from it. Very easy on yourself and the rotor.

Cutting it is the easiest way, you can also just mangled it with pliers til it breaks...

I wouldn't suggest removing the hub. That's like a 32mm nut that is critically important if not removed and installed correctly.

My rear rotors were almost welded on from rust from being on the East Coast. I don't know if they were ever changed. I couldn't get them off on my own so I took it to a shop where they used a friggin sledgehammer and chunks of rust were dropping off. That wasn't my preference because so much force can skew the alignment, but oh well.

Did they not use bolts to push the rotor off? There are two around the hat of the rotor in between the lug holes. Another thing that could have made it hard to remove was the e-brake shoes. After some mileage, those will wear and form a lip on the inner edge making the rotor more difficult to remove.

The solution?, turn the e-brake adjustment cog to loosen the shoes so they collapse back into their smallest state.

+1. You can also order new supra dust shield and basically cut it to fit around your hub so you don't have to take it off. Think of the dust shield like a big O. Cut it so that it is a C and fit it over the hub.

Here's another good link.

Note what he does with the brake dust shield.
