Default is this temp correct?

so it's like 100+ degrees fahrenheit outside and i just got my a/c charged up recently..usually when i'm just driving normally my temp gauge will show around 180-190 degrees fahrenheit w/o the a/c running but i notice every time i have the a/c on the temp jumps up to 210 degrees fahrenheit..is this a normal temp for our cars or is that way to high?

220 is boiling so I'd say its high.

is this when your driving and getting good airflow through the radiator?

not really a lot good airflow b/c it's basically stop and go traffic.

it's a little high, but i say it's normal. Friend of mine has a modded MKIII with a mishimoto radiator and stock t-stat. Usually around 180ish.

did a test drive on the interstate w/ the a/c on and was around 190ish which is better than just driving red light to red light traffic...btw i'm running the stock radiator w/ two electric 12" fans..need to buy a bigger radiator and a performance thermostat to see if that'll help.

i wouldn't go with the "performance" thermostat. One of my coworker's had one in his car and his car would not go into closed loop because the car ran so cold. Even during hot weather, the car would always run super rich. Just stick with the larger radiator and im sure you'll be fine.

the boiling point for water is 212 degrees F but since it's 50/50 in the radiator then i have no clue what the boiling point for that is...

keep in mind the system is also sealed and pressurized, so the boiling point is going to be higher than normal atmospheric conditions.

210 is high, no doubt about it.
my na-t only gets up to max 190 on hot days with some boosting, this is on stock sc3 fan + radiator + thermostat. I wouldn't blame high temps on OEM parts and start replacing them without figuring out whats actually wrong.

If you are getting down to 190 on the highway, i would have to assume you have an airflow problem at low speeds and my main question would be is do you have a shroud for the electric fans. running with no shroud will make it run a bit hotter (its not as efficient, clearly) and you will notice it the most at idle where your car is depending most on the electric fans.

Might be a good idea to take off the radiator hoses and spray some water through it and see how it flows and what comes out. It'll only take a few minutes to do and you can replace the old coolant while you're at it.
