So after 3 and a half hours...of trying to put on my lowering springs, we went absolutely no where. I couldnt get the shock to budge out so thaat we could take the spring off. We removed the top tower bolts, bottom shock bolt, and the end links? that connects to the sway bar i believe. Still couldnt get it out. What exactly do i have to do to get the freakin spring off?! Please help me out.
take off the bracket that holds the shock or remove the upper arm
The bracket thats sittin on the bottom?? We tried removing the upper arm but couldnt get that super long bolt thats in there hah, is there any need to compress the spring to remove it?? But to think about it we needed the shock to compress and not the springs... would it make it any different?
LOL! It sucked huh?? I was pretty sad seeing everything put back together and no change at all happend....after 3 hours....on ONE front suspension lol
Sorry to hear that! I had the same thing man, worked all morning and could NOT get the strut to budge an INCH...we gave up and had such a hard time putting it back together.

+1 The front shock is attached to the lower arm by a bracket and one 19mm nut and bolt. If your suspension was never touched until now, these bolts will be extremely hard to remove without some leverage. Try using breaker bars to give you the extra force needed to loosen them up.
Once the 19mm nut is removed, use a screwdriver or similar thin tool to knock out the 19mm bolt. Do both sides.
Then take out the 2 14mm holding the bracket down and you should be able to move the shock forward or backward depending on which one you remove first.
get a breaker and remove the upper arm. its so much easier and you pretty much need to anyways. after the first time you do it it takes just a few minutes. if you try and remove that bracket on the top of the LCA there is a good chance the bolts could just snap right off.
