Okay, I have a similar problem with my newly purchased SC, but symptoms are a little different.

My auto steering(steering wheels moving when ignition is on and off) stopped working, but manually, the steering wheels tilts, goes up and down with no issues. I assume this is maybe a loose wiring of that auto steering buttom or something? How and where is the wiring located? any tips or suggestions?

Thanks,
JP

Perfect. The dealer quoted me $800 to repair this. I did it with three 7/16 neoprene washer from Home Depot (on the nails and screws aisle). Total cost--62 cents, time about 15 minutes. THANK YOU for posting this--it will save lots of people lots of $$$$$$$$.

Does anyone know the Size, Width/Height of this Washer because I went to go buy this today and there are all different sizes and I didn't know which one to get! Is the Washer supposed to be metal?

I just fixed mine yesterday and I used a garden hose washer on the backside of the blue gear and put everything back and it works perfect. Thanks c_irie for his awesome write-up and pics.

Somebody Please Help..

I finally got those 3 screws loose and I can see the Wheel now.

The only problem is, I CAN'T remove the wheel! That screw is in the way (do I need to remove the screw? If so what size is it ? I tried evrything and nothing fit) and this little metal piece is in the way!

I tried pulling it with 2 paper clips but it is stuck in there. Do I need to remove the screw in front of it?

What size wrench do I need to unscrew it? I tried everything but couldn't get it to fit. The wheel is very loose, I can push it back and forth.

I think my problem is this little metal thing is in the way which is what is making it a lot harder.

Once I get this wheel off, I can put my washer behind it and hopefully everything will work again.
