or why do it at all.
Now you just doubled the cost of this incredible expensive/time consuming swap. I think most of the turbo charged v12 super cars have 4 turbos.

Stock v12's torque curve would have you wondering if turbo's are even necessary...and if boosted you could prob hit mid 500's easy with relatively little boost...without the need for forged internals. Every build costs more than expected....but that $70k estimate had me rotflmao.

^ $70k sounds just about right. "out-of-the-box" builds are typically 'expensive'

Maybe if he was paying labor....I never take that into consideration.

With all the parts sourcing, custom fabrication, tuning and labor, is there any shop that would be willing to undertake on a project like this?

I would really to see something like this completed.

Your right the turbo's would be doubled to compensate for 2 engine banks.

I spoke with a friend of mine that has a shop, and believe it or not, he's willing to do the swap only if the customer was to supply the needed parts & front a shop decal for notoriety.

sounds like a waste of money and time.

why, because it's already been done in another toyota sharing the same platform.

if you actually did this, it wouldn't even be groundbreaking or anything. You'd just spend hella money when you could have just swapped and built a GTE and had great power.

this concept just seems like it's for the 'shock value'. but in terms of WORTH and expense, its pointless. imo.

Even if the V12 swap has been done before, it's still very rare. When you think about how many 1GZs have made it out of Japan and how many were swapped into another car -- let alone an SC -- successfully, I think the end result would still be impressive regardless if its been done a few times before.

There is more to modification and customizing a car than just single number.

Its limited by Japan's specs... Some law saying that any company's horsepower must be limited to 280hp. The engine is capped, either by the ECU tuning or the engine is under rated.

I bet a standalone would bring that engine alive, even NA.

Im with RedPheonix on this...if ya had the cash to buy it and do it then go fore it. If your spending your life savings or taking out a loan then its no bueno. Other than that the sound of a v12 alone in an sc would be sick. Not to mention the torque...hp means nothing without torque!!
