Looked everywhere except under my car lol.. but my speedometer is not working and i was wondering if the speedo gear in the tranny is electronic, or do i have a speedo cable? On my 97, the speedo used to work only when it's cool. If it got too hot, it would cut off and the odometer would stop working also. This causes the steering to feel very loose because it is speed sensitive which is pretty dangerous. I even got a code that says the speedo malfunction.
I bought another cluster and it worked perfectly.

thanks guys. i get my new cluster today. figured since all my lights were out too then i might as well.. we will see if the cluster change fixes it. Good point ISHOOTSTUF! didnt think about that.
update.... got my cluster. Pissed off that its not the same on the back at all. so i tried to take out the needles and swap them, but sure enough the damn needles dont fit either!! how the heck do i take out the speedo motor and is that not going to be compatiable either?

ok well i decided to take the darn thing apart. took out the motor from the new cluster. went to take out the old one and once again, the motor doesnt bolt in the same way so i didnt even bother taking it out. plust the ODO screen was smaller on the new one. It must be from an OBDII SC400 Auto, and i have a 93 SC300 5spd.. this is driving me crazy. can i buy a motor somewhere? or am i SOL untill i find the correct cluster
