Okay guys, installing my Code Alarm PC 7400 Keyless remote with remote start. Have a couple of questions. Does anbody know if on the 95 SC there is a OEM starter prevent system. I know that some of the keys have transponders in them and Code offers a device for the Toy/Lexus, just wondering if I need it. Everything else looks pretty easy. Should have up and going in the next few days. Will take me a while since I'm very **** about wiring. Any suggestions are welcome.
I don't nkow about the OEM prevent system you talk of. But I do know that most if not all SC400's have a transponder in their key. It transmits to the right of the dirvers side door. Its in the panels where the passengers (behind the driver) left elbow would be.
Behind those panels you will find a small reciever
If you have a transponder key Viper makes this little box you can connect to the alarm. You actully have to have a copy of a key with the transponer in the little box Viper makes. My friend installs remote start alarm and he uses that box for cars with the transponder key.
Any of you guys here have a wiring diagram or know where I could get one? I'm planning to install an alarm myself and want to used the existing wires instead of running new one.
I've got the wiring diagram, but it needs to be confirmed. I'm actually working off of three different diagrams right now. When I'm done I'll post wire colors and locations for as much as possible. Man we need a FAQ section.
The '95 SC400 didn't come with a chip in the key. There is a built-in immobilizer you have to worry about though. If you successfully install remote start on your SC, that'd be awesome. I hear from seasoned installers that Lexus is a b!tch to install auto-start ignition on. They could have been referring to late model Lexuses, but they said very few people know how to do it right. One day you'll be sitting in the drive-thru at In-N-Out and your car alarm suddenly will go off and the engine will die spontanteously. If you get it goin', let us know. I have a Clifford Bullet IV and I'm interested in harnessing it's auto-start capabilities.
He's the one who installed my remote start clifford intelliguard alarm. They do quality installs. CLEAN and the sound is clean. Alarms are clean as well.
Call information for the number. I don't have it on me right now.
Let him know you were referred by Michael Lee w/the green lexus coupe.
Cool thanks Mike! Any idea on the prices for that kind of install? I was also interested in using some of the auxilary buttons on my remote for auto-windows up/down, and one for window vent where the windows drop by one inch and the moonroof tilts up. My friend did this on his Jetta showcar and it's pretty slick. Which Clifford alarm did you get? I can download new alarm sirens and chirps off the internet, but I lost my manual so I don't know how.
