ihiryu you require the 95-96 or 97-00 trip switch. Yes that is the official name.

The change relates to WHERE the speed sensor signal comes from. 1992-1997 used the transmission speed sensor while 1998-2000 use the ABS sensor from the ABS computer. Pin D13
C1 or C2 depending on 1997 or 1998-2000 is the square waveform speed sensor signal out of the cluster. It needs to be wired up for the varies different computers onboard the car including cruise control.
Oops, my bad. So as you can see in my pic, I have a wire in both C1 and C2, which one do I connect the speed sensor wire to? (I never did find the correct diagram that said what those 2 wire were)

On the 98-00 cluster
C1 is the speed out
C2 is the cruise control light.

92-94 & 95-96 use the same plugs but different pinouts
97 & 98-00 use the same plugs but different pinouts

The trip switch wiring is in the combination meter (gauge cluster) wiring diagrams.

ah! trip switch!

Account,

From what I'm looking at, it seems like, if you match a 99 cluster with a 99 trip switch everything should go to the cluster minus pins 3 and 12.

99 92
Pin12 (Y) will go to Pin12 (LR)

On Pin 4 of the trip switch on the 1999 goes to 14D (P) on the cluster.

But on the 1992 Trip switch, Pin 4 gets ground from the speed sensor.

Do you think that 14D (P) is ground via the 1999 cluster?

Also Pin 3 (G/W) on the 1999 comes from the theft ECU, but doesn't exist on the 1992 chassis.

Overall, seems pretty easy.

Notice the 92 diagram does not show were the signal for the LED comes from. It's not a complete diagram.

Do you know how to pin and depin connectors? Depin a wire from somewhere, junkyard vehicle, from a sound system install, & add it to 5 of the trip sw plug then run it D19 on the cluster.

Just an update!

I got a new trip switch (from 99) all I did was run a single pin into pin five of the trip switch plug, to D19 as per Account.

Then I ran D1 to fuel injector 1 on the ecu side. Everything is working like a champ.

HUGE thanks goes out to everyone, especially Account for helping me finish it up.

I remember someone having a video, but you really don't see anything special really. Mine is still working, as great as ever.
