Default What would you pay for this???

I've done some searching but can't find too many cars this basic.

A friend has a 95 SC300 auto in overall good shape, its what you expect from a 13 year old car, not mint but not bad either. Everything still works like the a/c display, the lights on the gauges, all the little SC problems have been fixed. It has right around 130k on the body and a JDM 2jzgte with the auto tranny that has around 40k on it. It also has aftermarket springs on it that lowered it an inch.

Anyway, around how much would you pay for this car? He has an offer of 10,500 right now but we don't know if thats a good deal or not. Any help will be appreciated.

well the car is worth about 6,000 tops.

the jdm 2jz is about 1500-2000.

labor doesnt count, or at least very little.

10500 is way too much for that car. 8000ish is about right.

if your buddy is going to get 10,500 for it them good for him. i say its not meant to be. buy an sc and do a swap yourself. its fun working on cars anyways

man that's one of those, "whatever someone will pay" situations.

i see people selling rough lookin 1jz swapped SC's for like 6 to 8k

the fact that it has a 2jzgte i could definetly see it getting more then that.

Exactly how DID you come up with this price? so a stock 95 is worth roughly 500$ to you?

Dude, you can buy my old 97 right now for that.

Edit...just read the 2jz swap part....That sounds a bit high, unless its a perfect swap job.

Its kind of hard to decide without the pictures but judging from your description I would probably offer:

-$8000 for a JDM swapped GTE
-$9000 for a USDM swapped GTE
-and then maybe $11,000-$12,000 for a USDM swapped GTE with a getrag and TT LSD.

Its a JDM 2JZGTE that been converted to US specs, (bigger turbos, etc...)

Thanks everyone for the advice, I'm gonna tell him to take the offer.

id say 8 to 10 sounds about right... depending on the condition... forget people who are saying 3500-6000... they are just looking at Edmunds of KBB. the fact is toyota and lexus are holding their value on the market, not by book values and when you add a turbo motor it changes everything... also, the sc300 is becoming a rare, speciality car if you want to call it that

8K for JDM auto
9K for USDM GTE auto
10-12K for the USDM with the Getrag 6 Speed swap
^^^^^^^^^^
My swap will start next year.

I would say around $10,000 sounds right. I dunno where $3,500 came from, but if the car is in good shape, I'd say try to get it for around $9,000.
