I squirted a ton of choke and brake cleaner into the throttle body and watched it brown up and run back out. Hopefully I'm referring right to the MAF (Right after the air filter box and before the intake pipe?) I also cleaned the first O2 sensor with carb cleaner. Everything is hooked up right so I think
Other than that all I did was remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold to paint it black.
What happens now is that the car will sputter a few times and then drop to zero. Occasionally can get it to run if you floor it and let it rest after a few minutes but then under two grand or so it throws the CEL and TRAC off lights.
I'm stumped. And broke
EDIT: I searched about this and I read that the 1UZFE pre OBDII MAF from either the LS or SC400 will work with slight modification. I can get one from a salvage yard. WOuld that do the trick? I can't think of other parts that I knocked around
i was told that the air flow sensor is a laser read one, that's why the carb cleaner ****ed up the laser reading, causing it to run like *****, jus for future reference, peace mane
Use electric contact cleaner and then let it sit and dry before you hook it back up. It dries pretty quickly but I've always done it before I went to bed.
