MAF problem?
MAF problem?
Today I changed the dizzy cap and rotor and also cleaned the MAF and t-body with choke and carb cleaner (apparently a mistake)
Now, the car idles weird AND the TRAC off and CEL come on under 1500 RPM or so.
Did I seriously screw this thing up?

I squirted a ton of choke and brake cleaner into the throttle body and watched it brown up and run back out. Hopefully I'm referring right to the MAF (Right after the air filter box and before the intake pipe?) I also cleaned the first O2 sensor with carb cleaner. Everything is hooked up right so I think
Other than that all I did was remove the heat shield from the exhaust manifold to paint it black.
What happens now is that the car will sputter a few times and then drop to zero. Occasionally can get it to run if you floor it and let it rest after a few minutes but then under two grand or so it throws the CEL and TRAC off lights.
I'm stumped. And broke
EDIT: I searched about this and I read that the 1UZFE pre OBDII MAF from either the LS or SC400 will work with slight modification. I can get one from a salvage yard. WOuld that do the trick? I can't think of other parts that I knocked around

I just picked up an SC400 MAF at a junk yard. They said the engine was running when the car was wrecked and was only there because of the body damage.
Any advice to stick this sucker in?

Those are the exact symptoms of a bad MAF - been through several over the years.
As for SC400 to SC300 I have no idea. Didn't know it was possible. I would have spent the extra money and gotten an SC300 MAF.
Don't forget to reset your ECU

I've cleaned out my MAF a few times before I went with the MAP ECU. I use electric contact cleaner and have never messed it up.
The SC400 MAF will work. It's an upgrade for NA-T guys because it can read more airflow before it maxes out and works better with bigger injectors.

I picked one up from an SC400 and swapped sensors, not the housing.
I will N-E-V-E-R own an SC400. That thing is such a PITA to work on. It took me probably a good 45 minutes to get out the MAF sensor and housing.
That is in comparison to the five minutes it takes for my 300.
