Guys,

Based on the description below, what should I get? KYB AGX or KONI (This is 3 way adjustable with height adjustable)? Of course, I am going to install them in my '95 SC400, I've already ordered '95 Eibach Springs from Ebay at $102.50

Also, should I change the front & Rear sway bar (Found Supra sway bar made by Tanabe from Overboost.com) along with the shock replacement?

Do supras' sway bars fit SC400? How much stiffer are they?

I read somewhere in the forum that sway bars from Supra '93-'98 will fit on SC400. I need to replace the front sway bar so I was thinking of replacing it with the Supra ones. I don't know when I will do this but I will post the result once I install it on SC400.

Please do. What's i am afraid is, 2 things: 1, changing just one not both and 2, these bars are not designed for SC. What will it do to the handling of the SC especially around curve.

 

Well, if you change one and not the other one. I am guessing it will improve handling but, not sure what the consequences are. As for the answer to the other question. Try finding out the thickness of the Supra's swaybar vs. SCs and if it is thicker it will improve in cornering. If it is the same then, it is not worth it but, if the overall diameter or circumference is even only 1/4" thicker. You will notice a difference.

 

If a swaybar was to be 1/4" thicker than another it'd be roughly 4 times stiffer!
I just went through all this,and the Supra front bar looks to be the same as on my SC400,the Supra rear bar is way stiffer.
If I was to setup a lowered car,I'd probably go for the Bilsteins.
The only question I'd have is in regards to how firm the Eibach rear springs are,thinking that maybe they'd made them firmer to make up for the soft rear swaybar that comes stock on the SCs.If this is the case,then you may not need,or want the Supra rear bar.
I'm sticking(to the road) with stock Supra springs/shocks/rear bar,as it all works really nice together.

 

I don't care about lowering my car since i already have problem with the car bottom out on my driveway (stock suspension). The only reason i considered the eibach is to reduce the body roll but someone posted that his car with Eibach/Tokico and 17" wheels is still floating. That makes me hestitate to upgrade my car to Eibach/tokico. I just can't believe that there's absolutely no after market sway bars for SC nor even polyurethan bushings

 

I wouldn't machine the strut, I've seen the machined struts fail, plus their dampening rates are lower on average and that restricts the spring rates you can use. Get a strut designed for that eyelit size. Tokico should have have them. The prefix on the part number is different than the standard series. (Like BZ or something like that). My Ground control coilovers came with multiple eyelits, so I could use different stuts. Look into that as well.

I don't think that KYB AGX's are height adjustable. But they're ride adjustable. I used to have them on my Accord. Nice shocks.
