Default different climate control?

has any one ever tried changing the climate control to something from another car? because im planning on installing a computer into my car and would like to get a smaller climate control so i have more room to play with on the console. i know ive seen one done before, but im not sure what car they got it from. it was really small and placed in the center vent area..i would like it if i were able to integrate the climate control into the computer..but for now, i dont think i can, so ill have to find another way of getting this done.

i was kind of looking at the 92-96 es300 one. does anyone know the dimensions of it? or have any other suggestions as to which climate control i should get? and how hard would it be to connect/splice one from another car to this?

and here's basically what i want to do to my interior..sorry its a little blurry..i was too lazy to scan it, so i took a pic with my cell and sent it to my comp

so basically, the current location for the temp **** is going to be switched to a volume **** and the es300 climate control would fit and connect with the screen inset just a bit. and the climate control and the screen would basically seem like one piece. and also, since the es300s climate control has the hazard light, i would also delete that from the console center..and on the climate control, i would also delete out the time buttons since ours is located by the gauges. the cupholder spot would turn into a usb hub..i have most of my stuff already, i just need the screen, power supply, and gps receiver

Unfortunately, I'm not to savvy on projects as technical as this to lend a helping opinion, but that sounds like it would be an awesome set-up. So at the very least, I at least can cheer you on.

Can't wait to see how it turns out!!!

The sc's climate control is the key part to have a good running ac system not all will just drop in because different years have different computers making you loose some a/c functions and eventually blow the computer .with that said i doubt you can use another ac control without extensive wiring

get yourself a wiring diagram and like thirty of those connectors that let you tap into a wire and start matching em up. that way after you think you got it if it doesnt work you still have the original harness attatched and you can tape up your damage. if it works make it permanent (and a writeup).

seeing as how all the buttons are the exact same, at the very least you should be able to somehow swap the ecu part from the sc300 to the front panel of this one basically just replacing the buttons. just my thoughts

thanks..that actually sounds like a good idea..and what do you mean by swap the ecu part from the sc300? i just need to find the wiring diagram for both..i do have the wiring diagram for the scs already..now i just need to get the wiring diagram for the es300's..does anyone know the size of the es300's climate control? and i know theres a picture on here that has an sc with a different climate control..i dont know who has it, or how they did it, or even where it came from..if anyone has any information about the guy who did this or any contact info..that would be greatly appreciated! and if anyone could do a photoshop of it that would be VERY cool!
