trunk release not working

Default trunk release not working

before I take the whole thing apart, has anyone had this problem before? any suggestions?

Can you open the gas cap door?

Check to see that it is not locked. There should be a little keyhole thing that is in between the trunk relese and the gas door. Check to see if it has been pushed in (do this by trying to push it in ) If u cannot push it in, then take ur key and unlock this. When u unlock it, it should pop back out. Then try ur trunk release. If the lock wasnt pushed in and after u unlock it it still wont open the trunk, i cant help u. If the problem persists, i can look into it further if needed.

Have a friend lift up on the trunk when you press the trunk switch.

If it opens, then you need to change your lift struts for the trunk lid.

I currently have this problem; I just can't find a local shop that carries the parts. Dohhhh.

That lock under the dash was the culprit, I thought it was only for the hood but I am mistaken, I appreciate all your help
