Default 2000 Es300 Trunk Release Problem

Hi,

I have a problem with the trunk on my Es300. Whenever I press the trunk open button from the dash inside the car, from the remote or use a key to open the trunk, the trunk lid doesn't pop up. I would have to push down hard and then pull the trunk lid up to get access to the trunk. I've checked the button inside the glove compartment but its not that. Anybody else have this problem or know any solutions?? Thanks!!!

Try putting a little grease on the locking mechanism parts on the trunk door.

I've tried squeezing a good amount of grease in the locking mechanisms where the trunk lid locks into the trunk. But it didn't work.

My trunk will not open with my master keys, although the master keys works for everything else including the wireless entry. I have to open my trunk everytime from my door panel. Does it means that the lock has gone bad or it had been changed as I acquired this car recently. The previous owner will not speak anything about this.

is your ES an 92 (according to your profile)? i have a 95 and our key fob only has one tiny button for the keyless door entry. i don't think it's capable of keyless trunk release as the new 97+ ES's with the multi-button key fob.
