What about the sensors on the engine on 1jz, are easy to find repalcement when something kick off the idiot light?

^^ Thanks makes no sense. Just because it has vvt-i it's not good for boosting? I've seen many vvti 2jz cars in japan make well over 600+ hp. Plus the motor comes boosted so why would it not be good for boosting . vvti actually helps with power under the curve which is a big advantage when running larger turbos. I know one of the big things with these motors is the lack of vvti cam options. I believe hks is the only company with a vvti cam. It also comes with a vvti controller.

2JZ-GTE FTW
-Potential : you all know its capable of 500+ on stock internals
-Stock :its weak
-Parts everywhere, but pricey (no need to look for those rare JDM pieces like 1JZ)
-EXPENSIVE AS HELL
-Unique : So far I think it is.
-Do it once and do it right!

2JZ-GE is good except the intake manifold design(just not my personal fav)
1JZ-GTE 2.5L isnt enough for me
1UZ? Never had a v8, but it would be fun to drive v8 twin turbo

I see you're not talking from experience. 90% of 2JZ-GTE parts will work for the 1JZ. I guess all us 1JZ guyz will have to be content BLOWING by your GE.

Rare 1JZ JDM Pieces? Like what?
While the 2JZGTE is the best swap you can't overlook the 1JZ for the price and aftermarket and ease of tuning. And since the .5L bothers you so much swap in a GE or GTE shortblock.

This is by no means an attempt to start another 1JZ vs 2JZ and 1UZ war. Just do your research before you post.

I had to do some long searching, but it ends up the rods are quite a bit smaller on the vvt-i. Probably wouldn't handle 900hp, but I'm sure it could handle over 500hp (guesstimation).

You can't believe everything you read online. I have never seen any concrete proof of why the vvti 2jzgte motor is weaker. Do the people that claim this have first hand experience with the engine or is just posting from hear say?

they claimed to have experience with either a supra or a swap in to an sc. like i said i dunno, its hard not to believe it when 5 people post it in a row regardless of its validity. all they said was lower compression in non vvti means better for boosting.

its pointless to argue this with you though bc i don't know about it, i'm going on a he said/she said argument

I think this answer depends largely on the vehicle you own...

If you own an SC400, putting a JZ series engine in your car is a bit more difficult. You would never swap a 2JZ-GE. For a few bucks more, you could have more power and more power potential with a 1JZ-GTE. Personally, if you have an SC400, enjoy the smooth power. Embrace the luxury of a small displacement, aluminum block V8. This theory goes out the window if you have the funds to make a 1UZ-GTE. I believe there is a twin turbo 1UZ in a Ferrari somewhere throwing 600 to the wheels. If you have the funds to make a TT 1UZ: I salute you. I envy you. You basically own the first LF-A on the streets.

If I have an SC300, I am really considering an NA/T set up with my stock 2JZ-GE. It is economical, effective, and can offer you very potent street car for a daily driver. I would swap a 1JZ-GTE or 2JZ-GTE if and only if I was going to try to make a monster. Both of those engines are such beasts. Forged inners that allow 500hp without going inside. 1000+hp after a rebuild. Jesus. I would probably favor the 1JZ over the 2JZ simply because it is exotic and that much more demoralizing to an LS2 owner knowing he lost to a 2.5L engine.
