Question What Coilover compares to...??

I used to own a 92 SC400 (RIP now) that I put an Eibach Pro-Kit on with Tokico Struts. It was shoed with some chrome 18"s. I really loved the way it looked and handled.

I am curious what coilovers will give me a similar ride? I am all about handling. I do want the coilovers so I can have the perfect look height-wise, but hitting corners excessively fast is my main motivation.

I drive hard and don't want to have the float, body roll, or drifting off my preferred line as I corner. I plan on putting 18"s up front with 19"s in the rear if that will make a difference to the suggestions I get.

The staggered wheels are all for looks. With the bodylines of the car the same size wheels look different. It's an optical illusion. Like O--o

So I want it to look like O--O

Just a personal preference.

To the best of my knowledge going with coilovers would be your best bet, as long as its a coilover kit with struts included not one of those cheap universal kits off ebay. With the coilovers the spring rate and valving is matched to that combination by the manufacturer so in turn you should get the better results for handling, all you have to do is adjust the height to where you want it. As low as possible is the way to go as long as your not bottoming out. The only drawback is the price, you realy cant find them for less then $1000. So if cost is an issue I'd just with a set eibachs they work well. Just make sure all your struts are good before you throw them back on the car, and check to see if your rear wheels are rubbing on the fenders (after you lower it). Hope this helps

Thumbs up Thanks

Price isn't that big of an issue. It seems everywhere I look I am going to spend $1350-$1450 for a set. Maybe I missed the places selling em for $1000. But would like to know more of where to find such prices.

Thanks for the insight and reply to my question!

I think the set I saw for $1000 was used, but i just saw that JIC Magic is having a sale on coilovers, $1160-$1200. I don't know if that includes the ones you need, it said on their home page that supra coil overs were $1160

Question Would this work?

I have been looking high and low for a non-knock off, or non-crappy set. Is this the quality I am looking for?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-...64604876QQrdZ1

TEIN SUPER STREET COILOVER DAMPER SC300/400 92-00
Tein Super Street Coilover is the suspension package for your car that will bring together street comfort with track performance. This highly engineered coilover set will improve your car's handling in addition to providing a 16 way adjustment system for all 4 corners. This is also bundled with full ride height adjustment and matched spring and damping for the ultimate street suspension. Great stance, comfort, and performance all in one Super Street package.
Tein Type SS: # DSL18-KUSS2

Anyone have this setup? Is it worth it? How is it different than the CS or RA? Will it matter to me?

Thanks to anyone that replys!
