I just briefly read the AC system in my repair manual, it didn't mention a thing about the filter

The next thing to do is to call the parts dept. and ask about your specific model.
Correction: The onwer's manual didn't say anything about AC filter on the maint. schedule.

"the part # is 8888024020 and is listed for both vehicles 94-2000. the access panel is located at the underside of the glove box and is held in place by two black plastics rivet things once you remove the access panel the actual filter should be held in place by a wingnut ...now I have not replaced mine since I'm in hawaii and well the pollution factor is not that great but g'luck and be sure to post your results"

My 94 repair manual didn't show any AC filter underside of the glove box

C_irie .. Have you replaced your A/C filter?? I took the wingnuts off of mine it is like an oval hole. I look into the hole and I can see the filter about 3 inches over. It looked like it would have been easier to attack it from the top so I took out the glove box but now I am confused looking at your pictures. Do you think the filter was in-correctly installed in my car or that it moved over there.?? I don't want to tear apart my car for something that could have been simple. I am taking your picture out to the car.. hopefully that helps

Ok ,

I think my car is missing the filter. The part I thought was the filter is Part 2 on your diagram.

I will buy a filter and try to see if that help with anything. I am now unsure that is where it goes
