Goodbye SC400, Hello SC430
Hi All,
Yikes, I think it’s a done deal. I took a deposit on the 400 earlier today and picked up the 430 tonight. The 400 goes for a presale inspection tomorrow evening and, when it passes (if you ever saw it you know why I don’t say if) there will be tears in my eyes as it goes down the road under someone else’s hand. It is by far the finest driving machine I ever owned. The 430 will have to work hard to replace it. Oh well, it was time for a change.
So I’ll be spending a little more time over in the SC430 forum but I’m sure the lively topics here will draw me back often. Those guys over there are a little stiff so I’ll be working on getting them to lighten up. Geez, I feel like I’ve thrown in with the Republicans.

Thanks,
I know about buyer's remorse but seller's remorse is new to me! I drove the 430 about 100 miles tonight with the top down. It was fun and and tight but not edgy like the 400. And those runflats will likely have to go.

George,
Congrats on the new purchase! It's hard to compare the SC400 to your new SC430. Almost comparing apples to oranges even though they're both SC's. I love my SC430 and my SC400. The SC430 has a lot more class and luxury especially when you're rolling with the top down(its a chick magnet). You'll love your new ride and probably won't miss your old ride as much. Great purchase!

Thanks all,
Well we got through the pre-sale in about 10 minutes. The mechanic was more impressed than the buyer. Then I sat down with the buyer and tried to give him a maintenance and detailing tutorial over a beer. He took notes but I'm not optimistic about his commitment. Oh well, it will be out of my control tomorrow.

Congrats! What better way to replace the SC400 than with an SC430. I don't care what anyone says, the SC430 is hot (albeit not as sexy as the SCx00), but the trade-off is in a faster, more modern and luxurious car. Have fun with her, the run-flats definitely have to go....along with the wheels
The 5 star "upgrade" caps were purchased on Sunday (eBay). I'll try that look for a while and then see how I feel. Compared to the silver frisbees, they're a giant step up.

Ok, here's a progress report.
The 400 when today to a driver who promises to keep her "nice". For all of you folks that look at used car ads, what does "nice" mean to you?
I wasn't as sad to see her go as I thought I would be. I think that's driven by a crazy work schedule and the lovely 430 watching over. I actuallly drove it today (on the sly to get an emissions inspection) and loved every minute. Also the "upgrade" caps came and I got them on this evenIng. Wow, no more pie bake-offs for me.
