I'm currently in the market for a new car and i was looking at sc300/400's and i was wondering what where the changes throughout the years? What years should i look for? What years should i avoid?Oh...and thanks to all who reply
there are none to avoid, they are all good, the real differences are cosmetic changes, a 95 is arguably the best year for the 300 because the engine easily swaps out and it has the nice tail lights, 97+ years had a different body kit, and a different shifter for the automatic, a few other changes in the interior, plus it got the vvti engine. i dont think the 400 changed
I need some insight on a trade up situation. I have owned a 1995 SC300 for three years now and the car only has 69,000 miles on it. I enjoy the car but think the extra power and refinement of a newer SC400 could be more fun, faster, comfortable, etc. Have any of you made this kind of trade up? Was it worth $10,000+? Any thoughts
It wouldnt cost over $10,000 to upgrade... Ive seen really nice 98-99 SC400s on ebay that are buy it now for anywhere between 17-20 grand. Consider your SC300 if its mint and lower mileage should be worth about 10. And yes, it would definitely be worth it to upgrade. Im just one of the many who do not mod their car and the SC400 is much much better.
SC400 put it perfectly, if you do not want to add FI then def go for the 400, not only are you getting a bigger motor , but your getting VVTi so thats 290hp in the 98s as well as a 5spd auto tranny, plus the aero package! it would run you about 2300-2500 for the aero parts alone before paint!!
depending on the mileage and condition of you current car i thinks its a worthwhile move, try to get it for 8k over though!!

Where can I find production information on SC300's as to how many where made of each model, color/per year,etc...I tried the Intellexual FAQ but the page seems to be down???
I don't know if that type of info is out there, but no one that I know of has put it together. I know the NSX guys compiled something like that. For now, this is all we have, and that's thanks to the work of the Aussies...
