3/4 of the way through timing belt job. Having some trouble figuring out where the crankshaft sensor wire is supposed to go.
Does it tuck behind the right leg (closest to driver side) of the hydraulic fan pump (and over the top of the A/C compressor)
Fan pump is back on, everything else lines up but the dang crank sensor wire is not making sense.
I know there is a bracket (for the wire) that's held in place by one of the pump bolts.
I seem to remember a wire behind one of the pump legs when I took it off but I can't say for sure.
Anyone do this recently and have it fresh in your mind?
Heck of a job. The actual timing belt and water pump were the easiest part of it.
It's all the other junk that's the real drag.
Below is a video on how to replace the Timing Belt on a 1UZ, it seems to show the routing of the Crankshaft Sensor Wire at 10:20 and 13:25 marks, should be good enough to find its proper location.
yes, behind the Fan pump, i had the same problem with the correct routing.
Wow, this is perfect. Those pics make it clear as day. Did you end up figuring it out yourself?
And thank you for taking the time to get back to me. I was losing it
yes, i changed the timing belt and the AC compressor don´t fit back on the engine. after several attempts i discovered the incorrectly cable for the crank sensor. i had previously taken some pictures that helped me a lot.
no problem! That´s what the car forums are for, to help each other
