Oh - and as for water getting in - check the seal along the cowl where it meets the hood. I had been getting water in my #6 plug hole because my clips had broken and the seal wasn't staying in place properly.
It's fun to see guys make these cars look pretty! I love the meister style wheels you have now and the kit will be fun to get installed, fitted, and painted or wrapped. My car has been all "go" from day one without too much attention to the outside. Some days I'd love to pick up another one just to kit, slam, and cruise lol! Have fun with this bad boy my friend!

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check it out!
Almost all of my previous vehicles have had engine work done and basically no visual mods so I figured this time I'd make the SC look how I want while slowly collecting go-fast parts and then when I have everything collected I'll try to do the swap as quickly as I can so the car isn't down in the meantime.
I think you've got a great plan! I love my swapped SC. HOWEVER... I will say - it's so hard to beat the awesome simplicity of a car with a 2jzge and a manual. That's been the one major downside of my VVTI GTE swap is how much more complicated, more expensive and hard to obtain parts, and it's much harder to diagnose when I have issues. Even those these cars are kind of dogs when they're NA - they're so fun, reliable, easy to work on, and take relentless beatings with ease. If I were you - get it where you want in the looks department, get it up to spec maintenance wise, put an LSD in it, and just enjoy it for a while! My car was still an absolute riot with bolt ons and the Kaaz rear diff.
I second the "these cars are really fun NA + manual" club. After manual swapping my GS300 I had tons of fun ripping through the gears and winding up the RPM's. I did end up rod knocking the old motor from bashing it too hard though.
It will be quite some time before the 1JZ goes in, I am enjoying the car as is right now!
Got a few things done today
I cleaned up the headlights, hate that yellow look!
W58 tripod bushings were falling apart, pressed them out with 18mm and 22mm sockets and put in some new Cube aluminum bushings. Feels much more solid now!
When I got the car it had a black trunk on it for some reason (and an imperfect one at that), I’m undecided on whether the car will be wrapped or whether the body kit will be painted to match the car so for now I wrapped the trunk in carbon fiber and it looks much better in my opinion!
I picked up a stock 1JZ VVTi intake manifold for $250 today! Definitely going to run this instead of the aftermarket intake my 1jz has now. Will be much easier to fit intercooler piping since I plan on running the Greddy LS intercooler kit for a Soarer. Still undecided on what turbo setup I’m going to run.
Also in the photo is the Titan Motorsports Supra seat brackets I bought. I’m going to run those and Braum seats because my stock seats are not in great shape and my head is practically touching the ceiling in this car. But the seats are backordered until August unfortunately. But excited to get them in!
I have also ordered a complete sound system from Crutchfield. Double DIN CarPlay stereo, new speakers, new sub, new amp, all new wiring. Going to make the interior as comfortable and modern as possible. Won’t be my first full audio install but first in an SC so it’s a bit intimidating but still looking forward to tackling it soon.
I also have LRB door panels on the way since my drivers one is missing and the passenger one isn’t in great shape. But unlike everyone who usually runs them bare metal I plan on actually primer/painting them to match the tan of the interior. The Braum seats I ordered are tan as well. I’m thinking it should turn out pretty damn good!
Lookin good man! Definitely take your time and enjoy it before swapping it - you're going to love this thing. I'd love to see some photos of those LRB door panels installed with a full interior. My door cards are slowly falling apart, and since nice replacements are so hard to find, I may go down that route myself at some point.
I like the wrap. It will be interesting to see how well it holds up overtime

Thanks guys! Yeah I plan on making the door panels look as nice as I can and I’m thoroughly enjoying driving the car as is, just need to recharge my AC because it’s hot as hell in SWFL these days lol
i have always been a fan of these old school muscle car shift ***** and had bought one for my S13 project in high school 10yrs ago, realized the SC uses the same thread pitch so I bought another one for the sake of nostalgia. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoy it
You will love the ****, I had one on my '64 GTO I bought new when I got out of the Navy. It sure makes it great shifting gears. Good luck to you on your project.

I’m a muscle car guy at heart Bill! My first car experience was tearing down my dad’s project ‘68 Camaro and it snowballed from there. Someday I’ll have my own muscle car 😎
Sooooooo my buddies over at DriftHQ had a huge sale on Garrett turbos so i decided to grab one of the Club Line turbos for the 1jz. It’s a GBC35-700 .82AR with a T3 housing, I’m super stoked on it! Got a great deal on it and will be perfect for the 1jz
