Oh man, you put a lot more effort into this, сool and thanks!
This is exactly how I also imagined it to myself: the nose needs to be made shorter(not enough skills to show this on photoshop )

But what I see also, is that they left that part, that nose over there - to easily replace if needed.. I think they just want to test the reaction of the public...
What can I say, they got this - I used to really like the RX(best is LC for sure ), but now when I see it new nose-design direction - I'm sick of it.. it just breaks and kills everything.

Most buyers will not obsess over these minor tweaks.

to me the grill looks like the child from a Honda Accord and 4th gen RX. The baby got the Accords nose.

Maybe Toyota hired the Honda designer that designed the ugly Accord nose.

Here you go, enjoy my lazy editing skills:

Wheel pushed forward as much as my skills allow, with all previous changes I added. Schnoz still looks big in my opinion.

You're welcome! But it really only took 10 minutes or so.

Who cares about most buyers, we're on an enthusiast forum.

Also, NX already has this "fixed", imagine they did this first to NX...

Really the interior is the major change. The exterior arguably will appear unchanged to many.

Other than the larger middle screen and more patterns, it still doesn't feel like a big change. 3RX to 4RX was a massive change in terms of features, looks inside and out. What is the value proposition for 4RX owners to get a 5RX?

For me, the value proposition does not exist until the Lexus offers a fully electric model. I agree the changes are insignificant.

Not sure why they are coming with the RZ. Maybe they wanted to start fresh with a design made to be electric from the start. Maybe the RX will go away once enough RZ's can be offered. They are both about the same size.

We had a third generation RX and when the fourth generation came out did not like it especially the exterior. Now after owning a fourth generation a 2017 world's better looking both interior and exterior than the third generation. The new fifth generation IMO is significantly better looking both exterior and interior plus the additional engine options. The RX is by far the #1 selling luxury SUV with the Mercedes GLC second selling 30% less than the RX. With this new RX sales will be even higher with it's biggest competition the new NX.

Looking at the order guide I found something puzzling.

The RX350 non-hybrid comes with a 8 speed tranny

The RX500h gets turbo 4, and comes with a 6 speed tranny. You would think it would be reversed based on price point.

Maybe something to do with HP and torque requirements of the trannys.

I doubt they'd go backwards to a six speed but who knows.

Corrected my post, RX350 comes with 8 speed tranny per order guide, not 6.
