Any comments on the wireless charger? specifically on the Canadian models this thing is practically useless. What is the point of a wireless charger that wont charge faster than the discharge rate of the phone. I find that when using navigation from the phone using wireless CarPlay the wireless charger doesn’t really charge the phone but instead just about barely manages to prevent the phone from discharging. How are you guys dealing with this? is there any fix at all? OR have i just paid for a gimmick of a "feature"?
As soon as you have a case (shell, cover) on the phone, you only get a weak charging current. Ideally, place it in the charging compartment without a case, then you’ll at least get a maintenance charge. During navigation, my iPhone 17 Pro also can’t fully charge (I’m using an original MagSafe case), still… That’s why I installed a different charging mount with a round MagSafe charger. It charges at full power and quickly brings the iPhone to 100%, even while in use.
Lexus chose a low wattage standard wireless charger while competitors have already moved up to higher wattage fast charge ones. Road trips require plugging in to not eventually kill the phone battery using CarPlay/AA.
I never use the wireless charger, since I discovered how inadequate it was. I keep a USB cable in the console. Even a drastic measure, like putting your phone in Airplane mode, won't make up for the weak charger. Lexus should be ashamed.
I have my iPhone 17 Pro Max in an Otterbox Symmetry MagSafe case and it charges every time without fail. Granted, its slow, but it works. I went on a 2,200 mile road trip last month and every time I got out of the car to check into our hotel in the afternoon, it was at 100% charge.

The Lexus onboard navigation. I also don't use CarPlay, so the only thing it's really doing is receiving emails and texts. Texts don't happen very often. Very minimal draw.

That's why your phone is fully charged at the end of a long trip. Waze has saved me from hitting too many objects on the highway to not use it anymore.
