Bluetooth and address book
Has anyone been able to successfully transfer their address book from the phone to the navigation via bluetooth ?
I'm using a phone with Windows Mobile 6 and so far, the only thing i've been successful at is to beam the phone number and name ONE at a time....
Do we really have to do this one at a time or is there a way to transfer the entire contact information ?

Go to http://www.lexus.com/models/LS/acces...bluetooth.html
enter your car and phone make and model and follow the screens. Most phones can only transfer 1 at a time, but this resource will tell you for sure.

I may have worded my comment about Verizon wrong. You can transfer the the phone book but it will not automatically upload the phone book for you.
From my experience, and I may be wrong, but Verizon disables Blutooth OBex. You can still manually transfer the phone book but I do not believe it will automatically sync.
I know with some cars/phone companies, it will automatically sync your phone book.

ESSearch, please correct me if that does not seem to be the case.

I am currently using the T-Mobile Wing, great phone with Windows Mobile 6 and PDA capabilities, bluetooth works great but I'm still unsuccessful in transferring more than one contact at a time, has to beam one at a time, which is a shame.

More specifically, here is what I did. First some background. I have a Treo 700p (Palm version) and I sync it regularly with my desktop computer. On the desktop I use MS Outlook and I have about 1,400 contacts sync'd to my Treo and they are divided into groups. I only had about 80 I wanted to transfer to the car system. In Outlook, I created a new group specifically for the car. After some experimentation I was able to transfer that group of 80 phone numbers into the Outlook group without parenthesis, extensions, or spaces. Then using the instructions in the manual, I was was able to upload the entire group to the car in one fell swoop.
I think that is what wboy was asking about doing in his first post and what most people ask about doing. Putting any quantity of phone numbers in one at a time, even if only one time for the initial load, would be a real hassle and too time consuming. Maintaining those or adding and deleting manually after the initial loading is not that big of a deal because usually that will be one or two at a time. Now as far as syncing with the car, automatically or otherwise and on any regular basis, I have not tried that and I cannot speak to that issue. Personally, I don't have a need for that. I hope that helps.

wboy, you didn't mention what phone you have, but you may want to try http://www.jetwaremobile.com/. In my case (I have a Cingular 8525/HTC Hermes 100) this didn't work, but the trial version is fully functional so it might be worth a shot for you.
Of the Windoze phones I've tried (8525, Samsung BlackJack, Treo 700/750, and Motorola Q) the functionality does not work, either through the OS, registry hacks, or with JetWare (which is basically just an elegant reg hack).

I have Razr (Cingular) and could not not transfer the complete address book. What I found was Razr does not have that feature. Used the same sim in my spare Sony Ericsson phone and transferred the whole address book without any problem.
